Bioshock

Bioshock is one of my favorite games for Xbox 360. I love the concept art for the game.
Above there is a few images that are from the newer game Bioshock Infinite, the artists is Ben Lo.
The art is truly memorizing and the art movement is very fluent which I like in art.

Ben Lo has also done some fan art, hear is one of his piece which is a character  of ToToro which is a anime film from a company called Studio Ghibli.

Tribe Nightguard is a character in Ben Lo Tribe World. He explains in his own blog what this characters role is in the game.
I truly love his style of work and how the concept gets put together.
He has a wide range of themes and characters he has designed and you can see that he can work in many different ways, I love how his work tells the story with needing words.

Nintendo

 Nintendo

The Nintendo industry has been a big part of my life for many years , i have decided to have a research in how it started and who started the gaming industry.
Through out the years Nintendo has created many games and consoles to entertain the world and they have successfully succeeded but how did they get so big ?.

The color TV Game series was the first color console that you play at the comfort of your own home. The first game for this console was Light Tennis that has a similar lay out to Pong. This console soon got out faced due to the fact you could not play any other games than just the one.

The next game that soon met the eye and became very popular world wide was Nintendo entertainment system. This became allot more popular rather than The color TV Game series.

My favorite Nintendo game has to be Zelda.
My favorite game has to be Twilight Princess the art work, and concept art for this game is to amazing for words. When I was looking into the game in more depth I found out that one of the concept artist is Yusuke Nakano.
Unfortunately there is not much about this artist that i could find. But the whole franchise of this game is truly amazing. The concept art is something that i highly admire.

This is one of the books that I have and I highly recommend it . It goes through the history of Zelda and the characters and how they are developed.

This is the kind of art work that highly adore.
File:Timeline Hyrule Historia.jpg
As I was researching through the history of the game i found out that allot of inspiration came from mythology.
When you start looking in depth on the story line it can become rather hard to follow, Hyrule was formed many years ago through the works of the three Golden Goddesses: Din the goddess of the power. As you can see from the image shown below.

Peter popken

Peter Popken

Is a film concept artist, i found him as i was researching film concept artist. I found out that he worked on Thor for marvel and many more films that are very well known. He has also worked for Disney , Paramount and warner Bros  and many more. He has also developed his carer by working for Sony Ps3 as a game concept artists.
Peter was born in Germany and studied Graphic design. When Peter finished his education  he went in to story boarding in animation. and then moved to all different areas in the entertainment industry.
Peter explains what his role in the concept industry is to draw the story to real life and make it more visual. His focus is on storytelling and he sets the mood for the film and each sequence.
The difference on concept on film and game is film is shorter. Film can take 3 to 6 months and a game can take up to 6 years. He works on many different soft wares that's what brought my eye to his work, as I am trying the software my self.
This kind of area of Industry is what i am interested in.
I like concept art and I personally collect the books for film and games.
I like how this peice of work looks like a oil painting, this technique is created on Photoshop.

I recently have been to event where I got to meet with William Simpson which was amazing.

He started of with drawing story boards then as he grew in the industry William went on to concept art for films and series.
William started in the industry with the company called British comics which included the comics Warrior and 2000 AD.He has since illustrated comic books for such industry heavyweights as DC comics and marvel comics.

What i like most about his work is that he still uses traditional methods but also modern methods. I really like his line work and you can see that he puts so much in his work which gives you so much inspiration.
I find his illustrations do the story telling by them selves with out the text which is what i find so professional and amazingly interesting.
William explained that working in the idustry is not always easy and you have to work very hard and end up when starting out using your own pocket but not to be taken as a mug at the same time.

Here is a Interveiw i found with William Simpson if you would like to read it.

Film and Game Zombies

I am looking at a Book called zombies by Russ Thorne.

Hear is a image of what the book looks like if you are wanting to get it.

From a young age i have been interested in mythical creatures from good to bad.
Hear i am looking at Zombies which is a very large part of modern pop culture.
I want to look at films and gaming in this blog as i have a huge interest in them.

The walking dead ( very popular at the moment)
I love the drawing style of the comics and fell i love with the story line.
Tony Moore is one of the team of artist who illustrate the comics.

http://www.tonymooreillustration.com/covers

Tony Moore illustrated one of my favorite covers of the comics trad paper backs. I don't now why i love this cover so much it just the cover that stands out to me the most.
Moore was Born in Kentucky. When at school he became friends with Robert Kirkman, which soon became partners with there comic book illustrations.
Their first comic book together was battle Pope in 2000.
In 2003 Kirkman and Moore created Invincible for images new superhero line. The story surrounded the adolescent son of the worlds most powerful superhero, who develops powers and starts his own superhero career.
But later on Kirkman was not meeting deadlines and was replaced by Ryan Ottley.
Later on the pair of them went to work on The walking Dead in 2003.
Kirkman also worked for marvel.
They both inspired each other through their work.
