Concept in Lord of the rings and The Hobbit

Concept art of Lord Of The Rings

Peter Jackson wanted Alan Lee and John Hoe to do the concept art for The Lord Of The Rings because they all ready worked with the book and illustrations and where fully experienced.
This video that is shown below shows the making of the film and the people that are involved.
I like the Bits where Allan and John speak I find them both interesting and have so much to say about the industry and there ideas.

In this video i found when they were explaining the 3d drawing with using red and blue inspiring and I never thought of it as a concept before.
They developed this with traditional drawings using pencil and ink and charcoal.
The 3d effect is something i would love to have ago at.

They wanted to do the concept to be something new and exciting.

For this image if you wear 3D glasses you will see it in 3d.

The work and time that went in to making these film sets is truly amazing and the skill that every artist who worked on the film is just out of this world.

When you look at the Lord of the rings and the hobbit concept art you really can see the development in technology.

Human Anotomy

Human Anatomy For Drawing

For the concept art you have to have a understanding of human Anatomy
for drawing humans or even creatures, to get a accurate prospective.

Quit alot of artist draw in still life , it is something I have always wanted to do as I think it is a good way of building up your skills.

Anotomy is used for many art including work for comics and games and film animation.
Even when drawing Manga and anime characters.

This is a Manga that I read and truly interested in. The artist Akihisa Ikeda is the illustrator for Rosario Vampire a manga which is a Japanese comic book.

Another drawing video of him drawing a character called Kurumu
These Manga books are my most favorite and I admire the art work.
I have a Huge interest in the Japanese  art work.

Akihisa Ikeda would have studied Human Anatomy to get a understanding of body position and being able to draw correctly but allot more simple.

Concept art Disney

Disney

Lauren Airriess

Visual Development from Tangled by Lauren Airriess

John Ripa

Dan Cooper

Jeffrey Turley
Laurent Ben Mimoun

The images that I have collected above are a few images of the concept art for the making of tangled.
I discovered many artists took part in to this and coming up with designs for the characters.
I like to look at how people develop the brief to make characters, you can see different ideas artists have which I always find interesting to look at.
I could spend all day looking through concept books, I find them so interesting how people have different ideas and drawing techniques, I like to see the development of characters.

I love how different artists read the script or brief differently and get something different from the description.

I also like to look at story boards which I have shown up above.
Tangled is a well known Disney film and I personally love the animation but what I love the most about is the art work and concept that went in to creating the film.
